If you have been reading my blog for quite a while now, you would know that Thailand holds a very special part in my life. As you all know, this was the place where I started travelling for the very first time, and in this place, I have met life-long friends that I still cherish today.
But what is it really that keeps me coming back again and again to Thailand? Sitting before my boarding gate here in Germany, I thought it through and I have come up with a few things that, I think, are the reasons that keeps me coming back to this amazingly beautiful country.

The food

As we all know, I love food. I think that that sentence is an understatement at how much I love food! But I do, and Thai food is one of my favourite cuisines there is. On my most recent trip to Thailand, all I ate were Pad Thai’s and Basil Chicken. It’s so, so good! I also love curry, but too much coconut milk tends to do bad things to my stomach. So I try really hard to keep off of curries. But I eat them every once in a while.
Thai food has a really distinct flavour and taste. It is not like any other Asian tastes. There are tamarind, plum sugar, fish sauce, lime, and lots and lots of chili! These sound like a weird combination, but I kid you not when I tell you that it does work.
The food is, definitely, one of the reasons–if not the main one–why I keep on coming back to Thailand. I just can’t get enough of it.
The people
I love how Thai’s are just so respectful to their monarchy, their culture, and the people who visit their country on a regular basis. I don’t think I have met anybody who’s more respectful than a Thai. I mean, I love Filipinos too because we’re polite and all, but Thai’s are on a whole other level!
Plus, not just to locals. I also love meeting people from different cultures. Some of the best travel friendships that I have were made in Thailand. So, so happy when I am in this country.
The vibe
I love partying, a lot. So Bangkok is my jam. I used to always go to Khao San Road whenever I am in Bangkok, and it never fails me! Never have I been to a place as lively as KSR, especially on the weekends. Although KSR can get pretty tiring, especially once you’ve partied your way through it for an entire week. That’s the time you know that you have to move onto a new province, or a new destination.
One more province that I really loved the vibe at was in Chiang Mai. The subtle hint of rave in the city, combined with all the nature and historical temples were amazing. I loved my time there!
The beaches
It’s true, we have beaches in the Philippines, and more beautiful than the ones in Thailand too. I am bias, I know. But the beaches in Thailand is nice enough. Besides, as a I always say, a day spent in the beach is a day well spent. Need I say more?
The beauty
There is beauty in every single thing. You have to know that. Also, different countries have different beauties. What you find beautiful in the USA might not be the typical standard of beauty in Thailand. But that does not mean that they’re any less beautiful.

I have been chasing summer all year, and I think it is time to go back to the cold. I type that as I sit in 11 degree (celcius) weather in Frankfurt, Germany. For now, it is nap time for me. I have not slept in a proper bed for two nights now! How crazy? But I am so excited to just head onto my next destination.
I hope you all have a great and amazing day, wherever you are! Blessings.
