A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of visiting Puerto Princesa, Palawan. Now, Palawan is one of the more popular islands in the Philippines because of its crystal clear waters and natural sea resources. Since every time people get shocked that I have not yet been to Palawan, I have made it a mission this year to finally go. And I went, and it had been amazing! I also stayed at the wonderful Balai Princesa.
As I checked into Balai Princesa, the first thing I noticed was how massive and comfortable the bed was. You bet that I had such an amazing sleep that night!
One thing that caught my attention over at Balai Princesa was their decorations. They are well thought of and they complement each room very well.
This was my head board.
I just love how this head board was carved symmetrically. Don’t you?
This lantern was made out of rattan, and I also love how they get their supplies just within the Philippines! Always love supporting local hand crafters.
Of course, never passing down a chance to do a mirror selfie.
I love how this mirror was designed by capiz shells, that we usually see in the beaches of the Philippines.
I just turned into one of those people who hung their clothes instead of just crumpling them into the bag!
My favourite rattan lantern from my room at Balai Princesa.
Oh, you know, just casually reading Amy Tan’s ‘The Joy Luck Club’ on my bed.
My amazing room at Balai Princesa.
Just in case you were bored in your room, you can step out in their backyard to soak in some Vitamin D from the sun.
This was their jacuzzi. They have two jacuzzi’s in their backyard: a big one for families, and a small one for couples or even for one’s self. I mostly used it as the latter. Which was completely fine too!
Just look at the beauty of this wonderful place. Now wouldn’t you just want to get into the jacuzzi and read a book here all afternoon?
Another photograph of their jacuzzi.
Now this was the bigger jacuzzi where families can spend their time soaked in water.
Their backyard was designed from the Filipino’s traditional Bahay Kubo.
I normally use the jacuzzi at night so I could have a relaxing bath time before heading to bed.
This was their showers, where you can shower before going into the jacuzzi.
I just love the contrast of the colours here. The designs at Balai Princesa are, most definitely, well thought of!
This was their sauna.
They have rows and rows of sauna that the guests can enjoy every single day.
I love how this photograph turned out.
Now this was the jacuzzi in action. I normally do a jacuzzi session at night before going to bed, so I feel more calm and relaxed.
I, very much, loved my time and stay at Balai Princesa. They, most definitely, was one of the main highlights of my stay in Puerto Princesa.
SUGGESTION/s: To be fair, everything was super amazing. The rooms smelled nice, and everything was clean. I think the only suggestion I could drop is the WiFi. They don’t really have strong internet connection, so maybe just that and everything at Balai Princesa would just be perfect!
DIRECTION/s: Going to Balai Princesa is fairly easy. Especially if you’re coming from the airport, because they actually have a shuttle service to pick you up from the airport. Then they will also drop you off when you leave. But for reference, here is a the direction. Click HERE to view.
Again, I want to say thank you very, very much for everyone over at Balai Princesa for the warmest welcome. You made my stay at Puerto Princesa such a memorable one!

Balai Princesa is, most definitely, my top choice when it comes to staying at Puerto Princesa. They have the cleanest rooms, the comfiest beds, and the friendliest staff. I would highly recommend staying here!
